Position at Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund CIC?

Programme Administrator

Job History (you want to tell us about)?

I started work in a mortgage company after leaving university with a law degree. I spent many years working at a University assessing grant applications from students in financial hardship and representing the University at open days advising on funding and scholarships.

A bit about you?

I live at the very top of the Rhondda Fawr with my partner and dog and we love walking the dogs and enjoying just how beautiful our valley is. I am currently enrolled on a Welsh course at Coleg y Cymoedd with aim of being a fluent Welsh speaker by the time I am 40.

What made you want to apply for this job?

Why wouldn’t I have applied for this job? It is a fantastic project to be involved in, I absolutely love the valleys and the people of the valleys and so to be in a job close to home, using skills I already have, whilst learning many new things and meeting inspiring and wonderful people for a fund that could transform the quality of life in these communities is a dream.

What skills do you think you offer to the PyC Fund?

I am an experienced administrator and am able to use those skills along with my attention to detail to provide excellent administrative support to the running of the CIC. I am hard working, passionate about the communities of this fund and I am friendly and approachable.

What most excites you about the PyC Community Fund?

It could provide real, lasting changes for the people of the communities involved. It can improve day to day life for the people and projects already running and will allow exciting, visionary projects, new for our area, to be developed.

What do you think are the threats or risks to the success of this fund?

I think the biggest threat would be if not enough risks were taken. This is a substantial fund for a long period of time and sometimes the seemingly wacky and wild ideas are the ones that could have the greatest impact.

If you woke up tomorrow as an animal, what animal would you choose to be and why

A caterpillar, you get to eat as much as you want, sleep and then wake up more beautiful than you could have ever imagined.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want to have with you?

A pen and lots of writing material to document my desert island experience, some Flumps and a knife.
