When PyC visited the Abergorki Community hall to see a group based there, it was apparent that the downstairs toilets needed complete refurbishment. After discussing the problem with the hall trustees, they had a quote and applied to our Micro Fund for help.
The trustees of the hall work tirelessly to look after the venue and have over last few years updated entrance, toilets upstairs, gym equipment and installed solar. They applied for and were awarded match funding from Coalfields and the work is now nearly complete. The toilets look fantastic, are accessible and far more suitable for the use the hall sees.
Abergorki Community Halll has been serving the community for many years and has a busy gym, a resident art group, five martial arts groups, an environmental group and music lessons based there and is very popular.
“The trustees of the Abergorki Community Hall would like to thank Pen-y-Cymoedd wind farm once again for helping our well-used community hall. We have struggled for many years to install disabled toilets so everyone in our area including wheelchair users can use our facilities. We would not have been able to start and complete this essential addition to the hall without the continuing support from Pen-Y-Cymoedd wind farm. Our best wishes to this organization, Halls Trustees.”
