Welcome to The Pen y Cymoedd Community Fund.
Welcome to Pen y Cymoedd Community Fund – thanks for visiting our website!
The Community Fund has been established by energy company Vattenfall for the benefit of the communities hosting the wind farm in and across the upper Neath, Afan, Rhondda and Cynon Valleys.
The Fund has an annual budget of £1.8 million until at least 2036 and offers an amazing opportunity for local people to invest in themselves and their ideas – building on all that is best in their communities. Go to the ‘Apply for Funding’ pages to find out more.
The Fund is managed by an independent, locally based not-for-profit Community Interest Company. The Company has six Directors and two members of staff – all with local connections and years of community engagement experience. We are here to help! You can read more about us here.
We hope that you can find answers to most of your questions on the site, but if not, please drop us a line email@example.com or give us a call 01685 878785. We’d love to hear from you.
With an annual budget of £1.8 million each year from 2017 until at least 2036, the Fund offers an unprecedented opportunity for local people to invest in themselves and their ideas to improve the economic, social, cultural and environmental life of their communities – now, and in the long-term.
It’s no ordinary Fund. Over several years through local conversations, residents and communities themselves have defined the priorities they want the funding to support.
The Fund is managed by an entirely independent, locally based and locally accountable not-for-profit Community Interest Company. The Company has six Directors – all with local connections and with years of community engagement experience. Our sole focus is on helping to deliver the ideas and vision of local people. You can read more about us and our staff here.
‘You’ll find lots of useful documents on our Downloads page and our Guides & Contacts page – such as guidance notes, an easy-read version of our Prospectus, details of grant awards, case studies, our policies and dates for our appointment sessions.’
Area of Benefit
Largely, communities eligible for support are those in the upper reaches of the Neath, Afan, Rhondda and Cynon valleys. Towns and villages included in the Fund area are listed here. If you are unsure about eligibility, please contact us.
It is possible for applicants to be based outside the area, but the activity or project proposed must directly involve and benefit communities within it.
What are Fund priorities?
The Fund Prospectus, was developed following extensive local consultation. It provides our initial framework and will be updated from time to time. We want to support innovation, skills development, training and enterprise and we’re keen to hear about and discuss your ideas!
