Neurological Rehabilitation Wales is a team of specialised instructors that uses the ARNI approach to rehabilitate stroke and other neurological injury survivors. They help people get from the point where NHS therapies are no longer an option to the point where they can start “retraining” their daily activities to help themselves.

Established back in 2018 they have developed an excellent reputation and have waiting lists for their services that they were struggling to fulfil. Already employing local instructors, our funding will

  • enable them to recruit and train 1.5FTE members of staff that will enable them to expand the services that they are able to offer and meet the additional demand. They will open outreach venues in Cymer (Afan), Resolven (Neath) and Hirwaun (Cynon).
  • train and provide the necessary experience to train clients without supervision and then start and the outreach programme.
  • Once established they will plan outreach evenly across all the venues to maximise their training output, giving the best help to the broadest community.

This is a very unique offering not available currently in area and not comparable to work of stroke support groups etc but they work closely with them to refer clients and we are so pleased to support this growth as the fund is committed to creating a range of quality, sustainable jobs / helping businesses with cost of new employees and making it easier for the community to live healthy lifestyles

“This is an exciting opportunity for us to expand our reach and help more survivors of neurological Injury. We are delighted to have been awarded this funding from Pen y Cymoedd for the next 3 years. It will make such a difference to so many.” – Julie and David
