Resolven RFC and Cricket Club approached the fund for funding to install Solar Panels, Battery storage and EV Charging points, which were identified as the club’s priorities following an Energy Survey that they’d had done. The club had already implemented all of the quick fix measures that the survey had identified and the application came with significant match funding, We were pleased to award them with £23,951 to go toward their £58,309.25 project.
This work will allow the club to become more energy efficient, lower their carbon footprint and provide a service to their local community. Their EV Charging points will be available to their members and the community.
How does this meet the fund’s priorities?
- Encourage the sustainability – both financially and environmentally – of community buildings and spaces
- Reduce environmental impact
- Make steps to reduce carbon dependency by the community
“Resolven RFC would like to thank Pen y Cymoedd and Welsh Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) to enable the club to complete the Solar Panel project and to Platinum Energy for the installation of the panels.
The project should enable the club to lower it’s Carbon Footprint and ensure the future of the club for the foreseeable future. The club is pleased to offer the local community the use of a Electric Vehicle Charging point. The only charging points in the village at this present time.” – Neal, Resolven RFC
