For the past 10 years, the Library has been run by a team of Trustees, Volunteers, and a few paid staff following the withdrawal of the local authority. In that time they have transformed the space and now have users of all ages, a range of weekly activities from the library, tuck shop, Food Bank and Pantry, Citizens Advice, Dementia Hwb, community cinema, classes and educational courses and much more.
“They have really grown with the community and become a space where all feel welcome and there is always something happening there to serve the community. Their recent 10 year Birthday Party showed just how important and loved they are as a community asset and how they have responded to community need and opportunities over last 10 years and adapted in times of crisis. The appointment of Development Manager has transformed the offering in the last 8 months. There is a real buzz and genuine community feedback about the variety of users and role the place plays for them and we are really pleased to support them over the next 12 months.” – Kate Breeze, Executive Director, Pen y Cymoedd
