PyC Supporting Local Growth and Sustainability at Cwm Farm Shop

Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund is proud to announce funding of £30,000 loan/grant mix awarded to Cwm Farm Shop Ltd for their exciting Revive & Thrive Project, aimed at future-proofing this much-loved community business in Ynyswen, Rhondda Cynon Taf.

This investment will support essential kitchen upgrades and energy-efficient equipment; enabling the business to expand its product offerings, reduce environmental impact, and creating and sustaining local jobs.

Cwm Farm Shop is a shining example of community spirit and innovation. From its roots in a multi-generational farming family, the shop has grown into a vibrant hub offering fresh, locally sourced produce, a warm restaurant experience, and strong support for local farmers and producers.

New Window for Corrwg Cwtch to Secure the Future of a Community Favourite

We’re delighted to announce a loan/grant mix of £21,829 from the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund to support Afan a Blast Ltd in replacing the large, failing bay window on the first floor of Corrwg Cwtch, a beloved café and event venue in Glyncorrwg.

The replacement is vital to ensuring the safety, warmth, and energy efficiency of the venue for customers, staff, and the local community.

Corrwg Cwtch—part of the Glyncorrwg Mountain Bike Centre—has become a treasured space for locals and visitors alike. With strong roots in the community, the venue hosts band nights, themed events, weddings, and gatherings, offering a welcoming environment in the Afan Valley for both everyday visitors and international tourists drawn to its biking trails and campsite.

This funding will help eliminate a growing health and safety risk / improve the energy efficiency of the building and support a small, family-run business working hard to sustain Glyncorrwg’s tourism offering
