GTFM received a grant to install 5 digital radio transmitters in the PyC fund area.

The aims of the project are to facilitate the sustainable migration of GTFM and other local community services to the digital radio medium, to provide more complete signal coverage of RCT and to utilise the benefits of digital (DAB) radio to broadcast 20 or more stations at the same time, vastly increasing radio station choice in the Valleys broadcast area.

We supported this project because GTFM (like Rhondda Radio) play an important role in local advertising, opportunities for communities to share information, opportunities for people who want careers in media and many volunteering opportunities.

As well as GTFM, we have been proud to support Rhondda Radio 106.1FM + 97.5FM as they applied for full FM licence and started broadcasting in Rhondda Fach.

Don’t forget to check out and tune in to these amazing local stations!
