- Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund is pleased to support Resolven Community Council with funding of £15,979.80 for a feasibility study to explore the potential transformation of an underused floodlit MUGA and tennis court into a state-of-the-art 3G synthetic training pitch.
This funding will support them to carry out essential investigative and planning work to understand if a 3G pitch is a viable and sustainable option for Resolven.
At this early stage, the Council is focused on gathering as much local input as possible. Initial feedback from residents and groups has been overwhelmingly positive — but the Community Council wants to hear more voices and ensure the project truly meets community needs before moving forward.
This feasibility funding will enable Resolven Community Council to:
Undertake site investigations and drainage assessments
Understand planning and environmental requirements
Engage more widely with the community to shape the vision
Assess the affordability and long-term sustainability of the facility
“Resolven Community Council is delighted to have been successful in its request for funding from Pen y Cymoedd to enable us to carry out a feasibility study towards a potential 3G synthetic training Pitch. This will be accessible and beneficial to the whole community helping to improve both fitness and mental health”- Resolven Community Council
