Back in Round 11, Talisha approached the PyC Micro Fund with a vision: to open a hearing clinic in Aberdare that would fill a real gap in local provision.

She was awarded £5,000 to support start-up costs, enabling her to offer:

  • Hearing assessments
  • Prescription and provision of private hearing aids
  • Earwax removal
  • Ear and noise protection

Fast forward two years—Talisha returned with a thriving business, employing two people and ready to grow. A second grant of £3,900 helped her kit out two dedicated earwax removal rooms with gold-standard micro suction equipment and portable systems for home visits.

“The project has gone exactly to plan… We are in full demand and looking to recruit again soon to support home visits and increased client needs.” – Talisha

This is a fantastic example of how small, targeted funding can spark sustainable businesses, create jobs, and strengthen local services.

Congratulations to Talisha!
